Sad news: Evelyn Fulcher - the undisputed matriarch of the entire Big Bend - passed away early last Saturday morning in Elgin, Texas. She had enjoyed good health and mobility and had lived with her daughter Janie for several months. Daughter Elizabeth Emory said that Evelyn had mentioned how tired she was in the last few days - and after only a short time in the hospital Saturday morning, Evelyn died. Evelyn was born in 1918 and would have been 93 years old this December 21st.
God bless her precious heart, sweet nature and amazing strength. Hers will certainly be the honor of being remembered forever by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Looking ahead: On Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24, at 4:00 p.m., a community Carol Sing will be led by Ted Arbogast, followed immediately by the traditional celebration of the Christ Mass.
Earth and Fire Art Gallery will have a grand opening at their new location in the Terlingua Ghosttown on December 19th from 4:30 till 8:30 with refreshments and opening night specials. In addition to fine ceramics and metal art from Mexico, they will be show-casing the works of local artist Ruth Jensen and Dani Bottenfield. The first guest artist to be featured will be Crystal Albright from Dec. 19th till Jan. 2, 2012.
