EVELYN FULCHER
Sad news: Evelyn Fulcher - the undisputed matriarch of the entire Big Bend - passed away early last Saturday morning in Elgin, Texas. She had enjoyed good health and mobility and had lived with her daughter Janie for several months.  Daughter Elizabeth Emory said that Evelyn had mentioned how tired she was in the last few days - and after only a short time in the hospital Saturday morning, Evelyn died.  Evelyn was born in 1918 and would have been 93 years old this December 21st.

God bless her precious heart, sweet nature and amazing strength. Hers will certainly be the honor of being remembered forever by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

At this time, plans for a memorial service are still undecided.  Her daughters Emory, Anice and Janie are together at Janie’s house in Elgin.  If you would like to send words of comfort and admiration for their remarkable mother, the address is:

Judy's Bad Rabbit Cafe on the Terlingua Ranch is temporarily closed as I'm sure you have heard.  I would like to clarify however this was a voluntary closure on my part. There are a few maintenance and plumbing issues being addressed.  Closing temporarily is the fastest most efficient way to address these things as well as facilitate the change over in management.  Chris Leland, who will be taking over when I leave, and myself will be working together along with the ranch manager, Vanessa to get the cafe reopened as soon as possible with a new water heater and mop sink.

I intend to make the most of this party, so even though it may lack traditional staples such as decorations and guests, I am determined to serve myself eggnog even though I'm not usually into holiday-themed drinking… and it's rare that an alcohol drink makes me think, "Not bad, but it could use another 300 calories and some nutmeg" – Will Gordon

Our friend and neighbor, Anne Lewis, underwent surgery late Monday night at Big Bend Regional Medical Center. Please send prayers, healing vibes and well wishes her way.  And Anne, please try to enjoy the royal treatment as well as the rest and attention, and just do nothing but lay up and watch tv in a nice warm place.  Love & see ya soon.
