Water Catchment Tanks - It must be Vu Ja De.  This has never happened before and probably will never happen again.  The Water Catchment dealer - Wylie - increased their prices a few weeks ago.  When I called to get a new price list, they told me they went up, and then went down.  The prices are now lower than they were pre-increase.  Example: a 1,750 gallon tank is now $775, delivered.  Call Carolyn (H2O 2 GO) if you want to get on the next tank list.

Since nothing much is going on these days, this roving reporter decided to check out the new…

Shot Time Liquors:  371-3155
Summer Hours: Open Mon-Sat 12:00 to 9:00
Closed Sundays.    Walk In or Drive Thru is always available.

Tonia Sweeney bought everything lock, stock and barrel in June.  She presently has the 4 bay shop behind the store for lease – whole or in parts (each bay can be rented separately; one has a built-in lube job pit).  Just think, now you can open up that hair salon, artist’s studio, mechanics shop, or pet nail trimming business!  The sky’s the limit. Whatever!

Inside the store, however, is a full selection of liquors, including “ready to drink” items, and “Zippers” or jello-shots.  Wines from Portugal, Spain and Argentina.

The coldest beer in town; this week featuring Tsing Tao (from China you knuckleheads!) but also Bass, Stella Artois, all flavors of Sierra Nevada, and Flying Dog beers.  Also Cheladas – BudLite with Clamato
Even cheerleader beer! And, of course, all the mixers and sodas of which you could ever conceive.

Then, there’s all the snacks, candy, beer salts, dog treats, frappuccinos, cold Sweet Leaf Ice Tea, and energy drinks.

Also, besides the standard tobacco faire, new products are coming in daily: Top, Swisher Sweets, flavored cigarillos, with more to come!  And wouldn’t you know it, Gifts!!! jewelry, thermometers, wind chimes.  Also, this is another Fax/Printer location.

This Reporter’s Pick:  $1.75 bags o’ ice.

Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company.

Considerable rain fell on the area of the burns on Friday and Saturday of this past weekend, aiding in containment.   Los Diablos ¡Listo!
Your Roving Reporter:
Nestled Against the Interstate…
This is your roving reporter, sending words from the Aether. I have decided to test out the waters of our larger traffic rivers...  Yes, I've broken Rule Number 2 and taken to the Interstate System with my trusty thumb as guide. After going from Ft. Collins, CO to Preston, MN (up I-25 to I-90 and across) in 36 hours, I have good news again this year.  The people of the Big Interstate are no crazier than the people of the Little Highways.  I still prefer the small roads because at least it's local crazy, and the views are better...  Less noise and fumes.  My first ride was from a neurosurgeon, who promptly offered up his services.  I told him I already have a physician (Dr. Doug) who could perform the neccesary treatment without even removing any grey matter.  "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."  Other rides included a woman who said God told her to pick me up...  She also said that God made the Christian radio station clear again when she prayed for the static to go away.  Lastly, I recieved a ride from a Chemistry teacher who told me how to make a fertilizer bomb. Wow, I never realized how fun Chemistry could be. So here I am in Minnesota, the land of fertilizer...  All i can say is, KEEP WATCHING THE NEWS!!!
BwaaaHahahahahaaaaaa!

Heard Around Town:
Tourist : I want a shot, do you know how to make a Brain Hemorrhage?
Bartender : Yea, with my fist.

Whoa Silver:
The Lone Ranger movie starring Johnny Depp, which was rumored to begin shooting in the Big Bend late this fall, has been put on hold by Disney. It seems that the director, Gore Verbinski, felt he could not work with the new budget. Disney recently slashed the budget from 250 million to 200 million.
