Last Minute Low Budget Productions is once again sponsoring a Spring Celebration of the Performing Arts to highlight the very talented Terlingua school students.  This Thursday, April 4, the celebration will kick off at 6:00 pm at the Theater Behind the Store with the performance of "This Way to Heaven" by the Big Bend High School One Act Play students.  This will be followed by the Roadrunner Band.  A concession stand will be available.

WOW!!! What a Party,
Terlingua Friends, you really out did yourselves with the Benefit, Candice wanted to thank you 1 & All.
You gave her so much love, kindness and generosity.
Her heart was filled with Love and Joy!  We all know what the dates stand for, but it's the little DASH in between that means the most.
Candice Davis 9/24/52 ~ 3/22/12
Candice will be cremated and her ashes will be returned to the place she loved, Terlingua. There is no service planed at this time but should things change we will place it in the MOON.

Gracias to all who participated in Funky Junk! White Trash freaks impressed me with their spirited characters.  The Rust was spun into Gold and is still on display at the Starlight Theatre until mid April.  Please stop by and check it out...no touching the art unless you've had your tetanus shot in the last ten years...ha ha. Starlight Crew was great as usual.  Diego and staff made the most tempting snacks...the peanut butter/jelly/dorito sandwiches were my favorite, but spicy pigs in a blanket were close behind.  Where were the pickled pigs' feet???  Make sure you go to the Starlight's back garden to see the TURBO CHOPPER... aka Suicide Machine... part of the sale of this MonsterMobile will go to the Community Garden.

OTRA VEZ will NOT be open next Saturday, April 7 (Green Scene day), but we will still be staging on Wednesday, April 4.  We plan to be open on April 14 and 28, and will be staging on Wednesdays.  Thanks

"The Invaders of Texas" On April 12 there will be an all day seminar at Big Bend National Park. The seminar will take place in the Panther Junction Headquarters Community Room at Big Bend National Park and run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Participants should bring a bag lunch. It will be presented by Jessica D. Strickland, invasive species program coordinator, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.  The Invaders of Texas Program supports the creation and perpetuation of a network of local citizen scientist teams who seek out and report outbreaks of selected environmentally and economically harmful invasive species. That information is delivered into a statewide mapping database and to those who can do something about it. A total of 25 confirmed participants is necessary in order for Strickland to make the trip. If you are interested, please RSVP Jane Brown, 432-477-1106 or Jane_Brown@nps.gov.
